New Timetable spring 2018


Litter Pick Up on the Wicklow Gap on Tues 24th April.


Wicklow Uplands Council is organising a two hour litter pick along a stretch of the Wicklow Gap on the evening of Tuesday 24th April in conjunction with the An Taisce National Spring Clean

All volunteers are warmly welcome and should meet at 18.30 at the Glendasan Mine site at the top of the Glendasan Valley on the Wicklow Gap.

We would suggest that volunteers dress appropriately for the weather and if possible to also bring a pair of gloves.

All bags and litter pickers will be provided.

Refreshments will be provided afterwards in the Brockagh Resource Centrein Laragh, Wicklow, Ireland.

Glendalough Car Boot Sales                                                                               

Join us for the next Car Boot on 6th of May. Bargains to be snapped up on items like, collectables, clothes and accessories, books, candles, gifts for upcoming birthdays and of course get your appetite working with some delicious, wholesome home baking. Vans must be booked in. Please pre-book indoor spaces early. Laragh Tidy Towns AGM and Village Clean-up

A clean-up of the village and surrounding area is planned for 7 pm on 1st May, before our AGM. The AGM will take place at 8 pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre. Everyone is very welcome as many hands make light work.

Co. Wicklow Older Person Council AGM

The Annual General Meeting will be held in the Brockagh Resource Centre on Fri 25th of May. The AGM will be followed by a Tea Dance in the afternoon.

Bealthaine Afternoon Tea Dance

The Wicklow Man is back to entertain us while we dance the afternoon away on May 20th from 3pm to 6pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. If you are a group, please call 0404 45600 to book in.

East Coast FM Wicklow Wide Coffee Morning

Helen and Niamh Kinlan are delighted to announce they are hosting an East Coast FM Wicklow Wide Coffee Morning in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh (free car parking available) on Friday, 20th April from 10am-12pm in aid of Wicklow Cancer Support Services and The Wicklow Hospice. A very worthy cause, which has touched many families in some way.

Helen and Niamh invite you to join them to enjoy delicious treats and chat with some friendly faces while being entertained by the wonderful Denise Brennan and Michael Flood. We will be reporting LIVE on East Coast FM and there will be a raffle on the morning with some fantastic prizes up for grabs! Don’t miss out!

Mindfulness Through Creativity Workshop

DEBRA Ireland Wicklow Mountains Challenge

If you would like a challenge Debra Ireland event is on the 29th of April. The event comprises of a half marathon with stunning scenery as you run through mountains, bogs and rivers. Starting high on the Wicklow Gap through the Glendalough Valley, a short climb onto the Brockagh Mountain, back to the finish line at Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. For details go to


Ronald McDonald House will be doing their annual cycle on Saturday 28th of April at Avon Rí Lakeshore Resort, Blessington. There will be a 100km through the Sally Gap and Wicklow Gap, 50km twice around the Blessington Lakes and 25km cycle once around Blessington Lakes. Registration at 9am with starting time 10am. Start Your Own Business Course

This is an essential course for anyone thinking of starting their own business. The objective of the Start Your Own Business Programme is to assist participants in assessing the viability of business ideas and in understanding the essential elements required to start up and run their own business. This is an evening course that runs over 10 wks delivered by experienced trainers who run their own business. An additional benefit of this course is the peer support participants will get by being in a group of likeminded individuals. Starting on 3rd of May, 2018, 7-10pm once a week. Free Computer Course

A free 5-week digital skills computer course are run throughout the year, two hours one day a week. Topics covered include online banking, apps, online government services, email, shopping online, photographs, podcasts, TV players, social media and much more. Irish Dancing Classes

Irish Dancing on Saturday mornings from  9am-10am. Pilates at the Brockagh 

Marie Noonan is a qualified Pilate’s teacher and has been teaching for the last 17 years and works full time as a movement therapist for rehabilitation, health and longevity. Walking  group in the Brockagh

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour. All ages and abilities are welcome. Call Lucy on 0863107511.

We Love Art  Classes on Monday afternoons are for Primary school children. They are taught by artist and qualified art teacher Almha Roche. Classes are small, and divided by age group. Please view timetable below for classes times. In the classes we work with lots of different art and craft forms. Adult Art This painting class will help you to find your own artistic style in your preferred medium. It is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced painters. Take up a new hobby or develop your skills and techniques in a friendly and informal group. H.I.F.D (high intensity fitness dance) (classes are ongoing)is an hour of dancing cardio workout to burn fat in a fun way on Wed evenings 7-8pm . Pay as You Go at €6 or €5 each night when you do two of his classes in Annamoe or Laragh in a week. 

Evening Yoga with Viva  

Viva’s yoga classes are for beginners to intermediate on TUESDAYS at 7pm in the Brockagh Centre. Improve your fitness strength and flexibility in a relaxing way. AA Meetings  (Ongoing)

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night.

Citizen’s Information Clinic

C.I.C have now an office in the Brockagh Resource Centre on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 10-12 providing valuable personal advice relating to your rights and entitlements on a large range of matters. Happy Days Baby & Toddler Group

Happy Days baby and toddler drop in group is every Wednesday morning 10.30 -12pm at the Brockagh Centre(break in July and Aug). Come for a social morning with Crafts, Messy Play, Music and Activities such as teddy bears picnic, sing along song/storytime  and of course light refreshments are provided. Morning Yoga with Louise

Louise’s yoga class will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11.15 am. This is a gently-paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilizing the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. The class begins with general and targeted warm-up sequences followed by postures (Asanas) and Vinyasa (breath-connected) sequences before final relaxation in Savasana. Chair Yoga

Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breath-work, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement whilst seated or through use of the chair whilst standing. Badminton  Junior and Seniors

Badminton classes are on Mon evenings in the Brockagh Centre at 7pm (Junior 4th class up) with Seniors from 8pm and on Thursday evenings with a repeat of the same classes. Contact Finian on 086 247 6822.

Drama School 

Drama classes are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouraging creativity and imagination. Drama modules will incorporate improvisation, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills.

Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunities to take graded examinations under a fully qualified teacher. Elevation holds a 100% pass rate in IBSD examinations. Elevation Drama Junior (5.45-6.45pm) is held at the Brockagh Centre. Contact Kate on 086 8256775.

Elevation Dance School
