The Centre is open Monday to Friday 9-5pm and opening at the weekend for different group bookings by appointment.
 
As a community centre, every precaution to prevent the spread of Covid 19  is implemented. Some of these include, but not limited to: Single Entry and Exit System, collection outside the back door of children from classes, hand sanitisation, check in reception. Your safety is our priority and we can assure you that all recommended social distancing protocols will be in place.
Regular events have a limit on participants due to the restrictions but instructors will take your details in the event of an opening.

All CLASSES/EVENTS NEED TO BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE. Please phone the relevant instructor number for the class you want to attend.

 

Wicklow Willow
October 17th Saturday /October 24th Saturday / November 7th Saturday /November 22nd Sunday

These are beginner/improver full-day courses. They run from 9am to 5-ish in the Brockagh Centre in lovely Glendalough. 
They are very relaxing, therapeutic experiences and you will make your very own basket to bring home on the day. 
The cost is €90 for the day and includes all materials, tuition, tea/coffee, lunch and cake!
Courses can be booked by EFT (see details attached) and a deposit of€50 is required to book a course. 
Please let us know what date you’d like and be sure to add your name to the bank transfer. Active Retirement Group (Autumn return date TBC)

Social group join to have a cuppa, some light exercise, bowls, chair badminton, dancing, music and monthly lunches in hotels and restaurants around the area. We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10.45-12 pm in the Brockagh Centre. If you would like further information on  planned outings, or would like to offer your services / share your skills with the group, please email brockaghoffice@gmail.com, call Denise in the Brockagh Centre on 0404- 45600 (or just drop in). New members are most welcome.

Pilates Classes in Laragh 

Pilates is on Mon at 7pm  in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. Pilates strengthens core muscles, improves muscle control, flexibility, strength and tone, as well as alignment and breathing. Zara Elkinson has trained and qualified through the STOTT Pilates Method of Movement. This method combines modern theories of exercise science with spinal rehabilitation, which gives a safe and effective exercise that sees results and is accessible to all. Irish Dancing Classes 

Irish Dancing held on Saturday mornings from  9am-10am in the Brockagh Resource Centre. Walking  group in the Brockagh

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour. All ages and abilities are welcome. Call Lucy on 0863107511.

We Love Art

Art and crafts classes for children of primary school age take place on Monday afternoons.  Classes cover a wide range of art and craft techniques and processes, giving kids an outlet for creative self-expression while learning new skills.  Classes are small and places must be reserved in advance, the first class is free for new students. Almha Roche is a professional artist and an experienced and qualified art teacher.    The new term starts on 10th September – the first class is free for new students.  See Facebook: weloveartcrafts. Tae kwon-Do for Youths and Adults 

Teens and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. Benefits include improving confidence, respect, discipline, awareness, concentration, channeling aggression, balance, coordination, speed, reactions, fitness and health. Call Master Kenneth Wheatley on 087-2547347 for further information. Classes are on Tuesdays at 8-9pm (Seniors & Teens).

AA Meetings  (Ongoing)

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night.

Citizen’s Information Clinic (Check with CIC website for return date)

C.I.C have now an office in the Brockagh Resource Centre on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 10-12 providing valuable personal advice relating to your rights and entitlements on a large range of matters. No appointment necessary. This is a free and confidential service.  For more information go to www. citizensinformation.ie. 

Happy Days – Parent and Toddler Group

Wednesday mornings 10.30 -12pm at the Brockagh Centre, parents, babies and toddlers get together, have lots of fun weeks with art & crafts and make new friends. It is also a great way to meet and socialize with parents, especially if you are new to the area. Contact us at 0404-45600 at the centre for more information.

Morning Yoga with Louise  

Louise’s yoga class will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11.15 am. This is a gently-paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilizing the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. The class begins with general and targeted warm-up sequences followed by postures (Asanas) and Vinyasa (breath-connected) sequences before final relaxation in Savasana. Chair Yoga 

Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breath-work, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement whilst seated or through use of the chair whilst standing. Laragh Badminton Club (Return TBC)

Badminton classes are in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh with  Monday evenings: Juniors 7-8pm (1st yr secondary students), 8-9pm (5th  & 6th Class-national school) on Thurs evenings: 6.45-7.45pm(4th class national school), 7.15-8.15pm (teenagers secondary school), Adults 8-9pm. Elevation Dance School 

Our Modern Dance classes focus on Jazz, Lyrical, Acro Dance, Ballet ISTD and Commercial styles as well as ISTD syllabus work giving a well-rounded understanding of the Modern Theatre style. ESPA holds weekly classes at the Brockagh centre. Weekly classes on Mondays and Wednesdays tutoring in Modern Dance/Ballet/Contemporary, Drama/Musical theatre. Saturday: Dance team practice. SOSA Dance Fitness Classes

Let’s Dance Yourself Happy!“SOSA” stands for Solo Salsa- meaning no partner is required! It is a high energy but low impact exercise with over 35 different dance styles! Dance the cha cha, salsa, Charleston, waltz, jive- plus so many more!
In each class every routine is broken down before we dance it so no one should feel left behind and that’s why beginners are ALWAYS welcome!
