Mindfulness & Craft Workshop

Violin Lessons

‘Curvy Whirlies’

Sunshine Fitness is proud to announce that our ‘Curvy Whirlies’ plus-sized ladies class is coming to the Brockagh Centre in Laragh this November 6th. This low-impact and fun exercise class will focus on strength building using a mixture of gentle movement, weights and stretching. No skinny-minnies allowed! Christmas Market

Would you like to get your creative ideas or skills showcased at this year’s Brockagh Resource Centre Christmas Market on the 15th of Dec, costing €25 per space. The centre is taking bookings now for spaces. We are hoping someone from the community will volunteer for a main role in the Grotto with good communication skills and a ‘hearty laugh’.  The St. Kevin’s Way Challenge

The St. Kevin’s Way 25km Challenge on October 6th is a fundraising walk to help celebrate Barretstown’s 25th anniversary and to raise €50,000 to help bring more children to experience its therapeutic recreation programmes. The route follows in the footsteps of St. Kevin through the beautiful hills and varied landscapes of Wicklow. Registration for the event takes place in the Brockagh Centre, from where you will be bussed to the starting line in Valleymount before finishing back at the Brockagh Centre. Learn to Create Professional Video for Social Media using your Smartphone

Are you a small business owner looking to expand your reach online. Film smart productions are offering a practical workshop designed for beginners that will cover all aspects of mobile video making including camera set up, planning your shoot, interview techniques and editing using your phone. The course will allow you to get hands on experience with Smartphone video making equipment. The only requirement is that your bring a phone (iphone or android). Footfalls Walking Festival Glendalough

Footfalls Walking Festival will be based in the Brockagh Resource Centre on Fri 25th to Mon 28th of October, with many of the walks taking us through Wicklow Mountains National Park. All walks are led by experienced walking leaders who will enhance your day with information on local history flora and fauna.The weekend offers a selection of walking choices such as Lugnaquilla (925 m), a night walk, moderate to easy walks throughout the weekend. Please note: Walks may be changed on the day depending on weather conditions or the fitness level of the group at the leader’s discretion. Glendalough Country Market & Car Boot Sales       

We have now moved to the 2nd Sunday of the month. Encouraging local and non-local producers of plants, vegetables, crafts etc. Our next event will be on Sun 13th of Oct, open from 10am to 4pm. Bargains on practically anything from household items to garden additions, and even vintage or antique treasures. Vans must be booked in. Please pre-book indoor spaces early. Evening Yoga with Viva  

Viva’s yoga classes for beginners to intermediate on Tuesdays  at 7pm. in the Brockagh Centre. Improve your fitness strength and flexibility in a relaxing way. Go For Life

The group meet most Tuesdays, so if you fancy a chat, a cuppa and some light exercise, bowls, music come along on at 11am, they welcome any newcomer. The group meet for lunch once a month at various venues. For further information, call Denise at the Brockagh Centre on (0404) 45600 or drop in.

Traditional Basket Weaving Workshops

Pilates Classes in Laragh

Pilates is on Mon at 7pm and Thurs at 10am in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. Pilates strengthens core muscles, improves muscle control, flexibility, strength and tone, as well as alignment and breathing. Zara Elkinson has trained and qualified through the STOTT Pilates Method of Movement. This method combines modern theories of exercise science with spinal rehabilitation, which gives a safe and effective exercise that sees results and is accessible to all. Free Computer Course (ongoing)

A free 5-week digital skills computer course are run throughout the year, two hours one day a week. Topics covered include online banking, apps, online government services, email, shopping online, photographs, podcasts, TV players, social media and much more. Irish Dancing Classes

Irish Dancing held on Saturday mornings from  9am-10am in the Brockagh Resource Centre. Walking  group in the Brockagh(ongoing)

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour. All ages and abilities are welcome. Call Lucy on 0863107511.

We Love Art

Art and crafts classes for children of primary school age take place on Monday afternoons.  Classes cover a wide range of art and craft techniques and processes, giving kids an outlet for creative self-expression while learning new skills.  Classes are small and places must be reserved in advance, the first class is free for new students. Adult Art Classes

Moved now to Mon morning,  drawing and painting classes are suitable for beginners as well as more experienced painters.  Students choose the medium(s) with which they wish to work, and develop their interests and personal style with Almha’s advice and guidance.  If you are thinking of getting back into your art, or trying something new to explore your creative side, now is a good time!  Classes are at 11-12.30pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh, commencing on September 19th. Tae kwon-Do for Youths and Adults (Ongoing)

Teens and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. Benefits include improving confidence, respect, discipline, awareness, concentration, channeling aggression, balance, coordination, speed, reactions, fitness and health. Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night.

Citizen’s Information Clinic (Ongoing)

C.I.C have now an office in the Brockagh Resource Centre on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 10-12 providing valuable personal advice relating to your rights and entitlements on a large range of matters. Happy Days – Parent and Toddler Group

Tuesdays mornings 10.30 -12pm at the Brockagh Centre, parents, babies and toddlers get together, have lots of fun weeks with art & crafts and make new friends. It is also a great way to meet and socialize with parents, especially if you are new to the area. Contact us at 0404-45600 at the centre for more information.

Morning Yoga with Louise   

Louise’s yoga class will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11.15 am. This is a gently-paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilizing the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. The class begins with general and targeted warm-up sequences followed by postures (Asanas) and Vinyasa (breath-connected) sequences before final relaxation in Savasana. Chair Yoga  

Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breath-work, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement whilst seated or through use of the chair whilst standing. Laragh Badminton Club

The AGM of Laragh Badminton Club takes place in Lynhams of Laragh at 8 pm on Monday 2 nd September. Badminton classes are back on in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh week starting Sept 16th with Juniors 6.45-7.45 (4th class), 7.45-8.45 (5th Class up) on Mon evenings also Juniors from 7-8pm(2nd yrs), Seniors at 8-9pm on Thursday evenings. Elevation Dance School

Our Modern Dance classes focus on Jazz, Lyrical, Acro Dance, Ballet ISTD and Commercial styles as well as ISTD syllabus work giving a well-rounded understanding of the Modern Theatre style. Classes are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre every Mon, Wed and Sat for all age groups and levels.
