Connecting Community, Culture and Creativity – Join Us at Our Annual General Meeting

For over two decades, the Glendalough & District Development Association CLG (GDDA) has worked alongside the local community to support community development, celebrate our rich arts, culture and heritage, encourage creativity, and create opportunities for people of all ages to connect, learn and thrive. Through the Brockagh Resource Centre and a range of community initiatives, we continue to build on this shared vision—working together to ensure Glendalough, Laragh and the surrounding area remain vibrant, inclusive and welcoming places to live, work and visit.

The Board of the GDDA warmly invites everyone with an interest in the future of Glendalough, Laragh and the surrounding area to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, 13 August 2026 at 8.30 p.m. in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.

The AGM is more than a statutory meeting—it is an opportunity to come together, celebrate what we have achieved over the past year, hear about the Association's plans for the future, and share your ideas for the continued development of our community. Whether you have been involved with the Association for many years or are joining us for the first time, your voice, ideas and participation are valued, and we would be delighted to welcome you.

During the AGM we will:

• Review the Association's activities and achievements over the past year.

• Present the annual financial statements.

• Elect the Board of Directors.

• Share plans and priorities for the year ahead.

• Invite ideas and feedback from the community.

Could You Help Shape Our Next Chapter?

As part of this year's AGM, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from people who would like to join our voluntary Board of Directors.

In particular, we would love to hear from individuals with experience in or a passion for:

• Arts and creative programmes

• Music and performance

• Creative writing and literature

• Cultural event planning and community engagement

Whether you are an artist, musician, writer, organiser, educator, or someone with experience in the creative sector, your knowledge and ideas could help us expand opportunities for creativity, learning and community participation throughout the Glendalough and Laragh area. You don’t need previous board experience—just enthusiasm for working collaboratively, fresh ideas, and a passion for helping our community flourish. If you would like to become involved or are simply curious about what we do, we’d love to hear from you.
