Laragh Glendalough Notes Week Beg 27th July 

Glendalough & District Development Association (GDDA) CLG

The Annual General Meeting of the GDDA CLG will take place on Thursday, 13 August 2026, at 8.30 p.m. in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.


The meeting will include a review of the Association's activities over the past year, presentation of the annual financial statements, election of the Board of Directors, and discussion of plans for the year ahead.


Expressions of Interest are welcome from people who would like to join our voluntary Board of Directors, particularly those with a passion for or experience in arts and creative programmes, music and performance, creative writing and literature, cultural event planning and community engagement. Previous board experience is not required. All members of the community are welcome to attend.

Do Not Consume Notice – Raheen Well Water Treatment Plant (Co. Wicklow)

Following HSE advice, Uisce Éireann has issued a Do Not Consume Notice for customers supplied by the Raheen Well Water Treatment Plant, including Annamoe Village and Raheen, due to elevated sodium and chloride (salt) levels.

This notice applies to:

Formula-fed babies (do not use the water for infant formula or baby food)

People on a strict low-sodium diet (including some with high blood pressure, kidney disease or heart conditions)

This is NOT a Boil Water Notice – boiling the water will not make it safe.

Customers can check if their property is affected by visiting www.water.ie (Water Quality section and enter your Eircode) or by calling 1800 278 278 (24/7).

Wicklow Regatta Schedule is Here! 

Get ready for 10 action-packed days of family fun, live music, workshops, competitions, traditional favourites and exciting new events as we celebrate the 148th Wicklow Regatta Festival! The festival is on from Sun 19th July to Mon 3rd Aug. With more than 50 free events taking place across Wicklow Town, there really is something for everyone, from our youngest festival-goers to the young at heart.

Roundwood Agricultural Show

Takes place in Aras an Tóchar on the Sunday 2nd of August starting with the Vintage Car parade from the village to An Tóchar GAA Club at 12:30pm. It promises to be a great day out for all the family. There will be many different attractions on the day, with favourites including tug of war, hang tough, sheaf pitching, pony rides, hand shearing, an array of show classes, wonderful craft stalls, model airplane display, live music and entertainment. The Show will feature four Irish Show Association All-Ireland Qualifiers. They are the Fleetwood Paints All Ireland Amateur Painting Championship for paintings of an Agricultural or Rural setting, the All-Ireland Photography Competition, themed, Natural Landscape of Ireland (scenery), the GAIN All Ireland Championship for a toy or miniature dog, any breed to be handled by a child under 15yrs; and a large dog, of any breed to be handled by anyone 16yrs or over. There will also be lots of other show classes to enter on the day including flowers, vegetables, crafts, home produce, photography, kids’ art and craft competitions and much more. Don’t forget to put the thinking caps on now for your scarecrow for the scarecrow competition! Big Dig at Glendalough

A children's hands-on archaeological excavation led by the School of Irish Archaeology (SIA) where participants get the chance to be an archaeologist by digging for treasures and artefacts dating back over 1000 years and learning about our Viking ancestors through the eyes of real archaeologists. Join us on the 23rd August, 11am - 4pm, Glendalough Visitor Centre (outside on lawn), Co. Wicklow. A98 HC80.

Hourly sessions, no booking just turn up. Set on the lawn of Glendalough Visitor Centre within the backdrop of Glendalough monastic enclosure. Organised by the Heritage Office of Wicklow County Council in association with the Glendalough Heritage Forum as a Heritage Plan action.

Glendalough Car Boot & Community Market – A Great Sunday Out!

Looking for a bargain or something a little different? Visit the Glendalough Car Boot & Community Market at the Brockagh Resource Centre in Laragh (A98 D3H1) and browse a fantastic selection of bargains, handmade crafts and locally produced goods.

You'll find a wide variety of items including gifts, clothing, plants, books, toys, skincare products, candles, artwork, tools, household goods and much more. Whether you're searching for a hidden treasure, picking up an affordable gift or simply enjoying a leisurely browse, there's something for everyone. 


The market is open to the public every Sunday from 10:00am to 3:00pm on Sun 9th August. Make a day of it and enjoy an affordable hot dog or burger for lunch, followed by one of our regular

baker's delicious homemade desserts with a cup of tea or coffee. Stall spaces- inside €17 (table included), outside: €15 (bring your own table).  Please note: All stallholders must pre-book their space. WMNP Woodland Strategy-Summer Lectures


Summer lectures are from 2nd July to 20th August, at 7:30pm every Thursday brought to you by Wicklow Mountains National Park.

AA Meetings Every Week!

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night. All are welcome to come along.


Walking  group in the Brockagh

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around the Glendalough area for approximately one hour. This is a great way to meet and chat with others and with no fee involved. No need to book, just show up on the day.
