Dublin Mountains Festival ~ Féile na Sléibhte 

We are VERY excited to announce our Dublin Mountains Festival ~ Féile na Sléibhte Community Day! Round up the whole family and join us at Glencullen Adventure Park (The GAP) on Saturday, 10th of October, from 2–5pm! 

Expect an afternoon packed with music, games, bike challenges, sheepdog demos, local producers, a swap shop, storytelling, breathwork, and lots more!General admission is free, with your ticket giving you access to the main Community Day activities.

Please note that separate tickets are required for a couple of activities, which will be announced separately.

Free shuttle bus available from Carrickmines Park & Ride – booking details will be released soon. The full timetable will be sent out ahead of the event, so keep an eye on your emails!

Glendalough Car Boot & Community Market-11th Oct

Visit the Glendalough Car Boot & Community Market at the Brockagh Resource Centre in Laragh (A98 D3H1) and browse a fantastic selection of bargains, handmade crafts and locally produced goods.

You'll find a wide variety of items including gifts, clothing, plants, books, toys, skincare products, candles, artwork, tools, household goods and much more. Whether you're searching for a hidden treasure, picking up an affordable gift or simply enjoying a leisurely browse, there's something for everyone. 

Make a day of it and enjoy an affordable hot dog or burger for lunch, followed by one of our regular baker's delicious homemade desserts with a cup of tea or coffee. Stall spaces- inside €17 (table included), outside: €15 (bring your own table).  Please note: All stallholders must pre-book their space. Memory Cafe in Laragh-9th Oct 

Join us from 11am to 1pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh, A98 D3H1 in the Mountainview Room, we'll be celebrating our 1st birthday on the 9th of Oct! 

This is a free monthly event for people living with dementia/memory problems, family carers, friends and healthcare professionals to connect, socialise and source info. 

Upcoming dates are 9th Oct, 13th Nov, 11th December.

Laragh & Glendalough Tidy Towns

Some volunteers will be attending this year's Pure Mile 20th Anniversary in Brook Lodge Hotel, Aughrim on 2nd of October. Pure was officially launched on 1st September 2006 at Avondale House, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow, and this year, they are celebrating 20 years.

 “Pure has taken a multi-disciplinary approach to combating illegal dumping. This includes education and community initiatives, environmental projects, regional and national media campaigns, digital marketing and public awareness campaigns”. AA Meetings & Support Every Week!

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night. Everyone is welcome.

Walking  group in the Brockagh

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk/chat around the Glendalough area for approximately one hour. This is a great way to meet others and with no fee involved. No need to book, just show up on the day.

A lovely morning in Brockagh Woods! 

A big thank you to the lovely walkers who joined us on Friday for our guided Woodland Walk & Talk as part of National Walking Week 2026.

We enjoyed a gentle wander through Brockagh Woods, taking in the beautiful surroundings and sharing a little local history and nature along the way. There was plenty of laughter too, with our walkers sharing wonderful stories and memories of local people, families and events from years gone by. It was such a lovey reminder of the rich history of our area and the importance of keeping local stories alive. We finished back at the Centre for a well-earned cuppa and chat.

It was wonderful to be part of National Walking Week and to celebrate how something as simple as getting outdoors together can bring people together. We're hoping to make our community walks a regular feature of 'Friday at Brockagh', with opportunities to explore more of our beautiful local surroundings. We'd love your feedback! Would you enjoy a longer walk next time? Perhaps a different route, a particular theme or something a little more adventurous? We're keen to hear your suggestions as we develop these community mornings.
