Laragh Glendalough Notes Week Beg 9th March


National Tree Week 2026 runs from March 8th to March 15th with the theme "Growing a Greener Future Together". Organized by the Tree Council of Ireland and Coillte, this initiative promotes planting native trees, boosting biodiversity, and hosting community-led events nationwide. Key activities include free tree giveaways, school photography competitions, and educational tree-planting workshops.


Rambling House Event - Annamoe Centre

Our first Rambling House of 2026 in the Annamoe Centre is on Friday 13th of March  at 8pm.  All are welcome. Any queries to 086-8749092.


Laragh & Glendalough Tidy Towns

Wonderful work was completed by the Laragh Glendalough Tidy Towns volunteers last week as they planted a native biodiversity hedge in Laragh village. Many thanks to the residents on the Village Lane, to Andrew Nolan, youth Tidy Towns members Eanna and Huidai, and to Ciara Lynham and family for providing us with delicious food afterwards.

Laragh Glendalough Tidy Towns also received a “Highly Commended” award for ongoing biodiversity work from Wicklow County Council at the awards ceremony in the Brockagh Resource Centre on Saturday 7th March.


Yoga with Louise

Vinyasa Krama Yoga (step-by-step). Classes are from 10am to 11.20 in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.

The practice will provide gentle stretching, improved strength and flexibility, as well as help students to find balance and calm in everyday life.  Louise takes students through Asana, Pranayama and Meditation for a full Yoga practice.

Chair Yoga

Classes are from 11.30am to 12.30 in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.

Chair Yoga is suitable for those who find a regular yoga class too strenuous, are recovering from injury or illness or are generally less active and mobile.  Louise's classes include physical poses (asana), breathing practices (pranayama) and relaxation and meditation.  There is some standing work which is optional and done next to the chair.

Moo Music Wicklow

Moo Music Wicklow -sensory music and movement class for babies and toddlers is coming to the Bright Stars Baby and Toddler group in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh on Wednesday 18th of March from 10.30 to 12pm.  Cost: €5.50 per family including snacks.  For more information: call us on 0404 45600.





Easter Camps



Wicklow Way Academy of Music & Arts is at St Laurence O’ Toole’s National School Roundwood, Co. Wicklow with Easter Camp activities for all ages starting Tuesday 7th of April to Friday 10th of April 2026. Register your interest with Meg via email at wwamaacademy@aol.com.





We are excited for this year's Easter Craft camps. Come join us for 4 days of art, craft, design and of course sewing! We will also have lots of games and Easter treats!

Laragh Badminton Club 

Badminton classes are on Mondays evenings in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh for adults from 7.30-9.30pm. Contact Phil Curley 0404 45175/087 2067607 Or Gosia Ward 087 063 8898. A small club fee for the year applies for participation. All are welcome. 


Mobile Library

Dance Camp 2026

Glendalough has been an invaluable incubator for the last 6 years for Flora Fauna Project, and with thanks to the Irish Arts Council, the Brockagh Resource Centre and Wicklow County Council we are delighted to invite more artists to this stunning national park for 2 DANCE CAMPS in 2026. Memory Cafe in Laragh

Our next free Cafe event in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh, A98 D3H1 in the Mountainview Room is at 11am on Friday 13th March. All welcome to come & learn about Palliative Care from the experts: Dr Martin Ryan & Senior Nurse Hazel Bayley from Wicklow Hospice. There will also be live music, tea/coffee and cake! Glendalough AC

New year, new hobby? If you're near Laragh or Glendalough, come run with us.

We train together throughout the week — friendly, coached sessions for all levels. Whether you've never run a step or you're building toward a spring race, there's a place for you here.

First two sessions are free. Just show up and say hello.

When & where:

Tuesdays 6:30pm — Speed work at the Upper Lake. Intervals scaled to your pace, stunning setting.

Thursdays — Two options:

- 6:00pm easy run/run-walk from the Woollen Mills (perfect for beginners or those easing back in).

- 6:30pm faster easy run at Vartry Reservoir (comfortable pace, good company).

Saturdays 8:30am — Steady session, then Winter League 5k/10k at 9:30am. The best way to stay consistent through the cold months.

Sundays 8:30am — Long run from Laragh. Easy miles, great chat, valley views.
