CIE Tours Awards of Excellence CIE Tours presented its annual Awards of Excellence on 6 February 2024 and we're delighted to announce that  Glendalough Visitor Centre, Kilmainham Gaol Museum, Dublin Castle, Ionad an Bhlascaoid - The Blasket Centre, Dún Aonghasa, and Donegal Castle were honoured as Merit Winners.  Merits are awarded to hotels and tourists attractions that achieved a customer satisfaction rating of 92% or higher - an outstanding achievement!! Laragh and Glendalough Tidy Towns We are thankful for the sunny cold day and the great work done by all our volunteers  helping out last Saturday. Laragh bridge was cleared, bulbs planted in the village centre and at the Beechwood entrance, bags of rubbish lifted and climbing roses with hawthorn planted up a fence at the back of houses in the village centre(encouraging biodiversity). There is such a large deer population in this area we have to safeguard plants with wire and we are mindful of what to plant and what the deer like to eat. Every effort is made to keep our community tidy and our young Junior Tidy Towns are brilliant at helping us out, making them aware of the work done for better community life and environment. Roundwood Variety Group Panto Congratulations to all the cast, behind the scenes volunteers, directors, committee, production engineers, musicians etc., for bringing the community and surrounding areas another very entertaining production.
