Bat Walk at Deputy’s Pass
Meet at Deputy’s Pass Car Park on May 21st from 9:30 pm - 11:00 pm.
Nocturnal and numerous, and source of much folklore, bats are among our most common and at the same time least understood native mammals. Join us at Deputy’s Pass this Natura 2000 Day for a bat walk in the woods at night. Learn about their lives and their role in the woods, and how we find out which bats live where! For all ages. Wrap up warm for the walk at night, bring a torch if you have one, and even better a bat detector – if you don’t, we’ll be sharing some round on the walk and showing you how to use them! Unfortunately dogs (excluding guide dogs) are not permitted on this walk. Website: https://biodiversityweek.ie/event/bat-walk-at-deputys-pass/

Lough Dan Charity Swim
Challenge yourself in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains in beautiful Lough Dan, while supporting two amazing charities. The event will be staged from the Lough Dan Scout Centre on the 12th of July 2026. There are two different distances starting in separate waves.

The first is a 1 km 'novice' swim and the other a 3.9 km 'ironman distance'. We are honoured to be partnering with two incredible charities for our inaugural event! Everyone will be familiar with the amazing work that Our Lady's Hospice and Care Services undertake in their facility in Maghermore and in our communities in Co. Wicklow and beyond. Our other charity, 22q11 Ireland, may be less familiar, but does equally outstanding work nationwide. Register or find out more about this event at https://www.loughdancharityswim.com/event.
