Wicklow County Council has announced the parade times for towns across the county. Please be aware that road closures will be in place to facilitate the parades.

Here’s when you can catch the celebrations:

Arklow – 2:00 pm

Aughrim – 11:15 am

Baltinglass – 12:30 pm

Blessington – 12:00 pm

Bray – 2:00 pm

Carnew – 12:30 pm

Greystones – 11:00 am

Newtownmountkennedy – 12:00 pm

Rathdrum – 12:00 pm

WicklowTown – 3:15 pm

St Patrick's Day - FUN FACT

Raise your glasses to Luke Wadding, an Irish Franciscan friar from Waterford whose persistent efforts turned March 17 into a feast day. Born in 1588, Wadding died in Rome in the 17th century and his remains are interred there in the college of St Isidore’s, which he founded. If you visit the National Gallery of Ireland, you can see a painting of the friar by Carlo Maratta, while in Waterford city he is commemorated with a statue outside the French Church (Greyfriars).(Taken from www.ireland.com)

Laragh and Glendalough Tidy Towns

Rewild Wicklow along with LGTT, OPW and NPWS will be planting trees at the Wicklow Gap Junction in Glendalough on Sunday 22nd March from 10am - 1pm.

After Eight Roundwood

Do you want to dance? We’re bringing After Eight to Wicklow! It’ll be an intimate dance party in the magical space that is Cnoc Na Nban in Roundwood.

St. Kevin Church Laragh Mass Times

Mass is held on Sunday at 11.30am, Tuesday and Friday at 9am. Liturgy of the Word and Communion on Wednesday at 9am.

Glendalough AC

Glendalough AC Race Round-Up 

It’s been another busy few weeks for Glendalough AC runners with members competing across road, trail and hill races both locally and internationally.

Highlights included:

Ian Bromley finished 3rd overall at the Brockagh Burst, the club’s best ever placing at the Moneystown 4 mile road race.

Aaron Cullen setting a new club record at the Moneystown 4 Mile.

Graeme Warren placed 7th overall at the Wicklow Hospice Half Marathon.

A trio of runners is travelling to Japan to complete the Tokyo Marathon.

Strong club representation at the Bohermeen Half Marathon and across several IMRA hill races.

Well done to everyone who raced over the past few weeks and represented the club so well!

Yin Yang Yoga Classes 

Yin Yang Yoga class with Afia is on from 7pm to 9pm at the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh, A98 D3H1, in the Mountainview room. To register call/WhatsApp Afia on 0868 390 700. This is a 10 week course and is suitable for all levels.

Laragh Memory Café

Another enjoyable cafe event last Friday morning. Thanks to Dr Martin Ryan and CNM Hazel Bayley from Wicklow Hospice for their very informative presentation on Palliative Care, and to Linda & her ukulele tribe for providing the music! Next meeting: Friday April 10th.

Easter Camp

Pilates Classes in Laragh

Pilates strengthens core muscles, improves muscle control, flexibility, strength and tone, as well as alignment and breathing. Zara Elkinson has trained and qualified through the STOTT Pilates Method of Movement. This method combines modern theories of exercise science with spinal rehabilitation, which gives a safe and effective exercise that sees results and is accessible to all.
