Christmas Greetings from Brockagh Resource Centre

The Board of Management, manager and staff at the Brockagh Resource Centre would like to wish you and your family a very happy Christmas, filled with health, happiness, peace, and prosperity, and every good wish for the New Year ahead.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our community and all of our clients who use the centre throughout the year. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you all back in 2026.


The centre will close for the Christmas holidays on Monday, 22nd December at 1:00pm, and will reopen on Monday, 5th January at 9:00am.

Recycling Notice

We kindly ask that if recycling bins are full over the holiday period, please do not leave recycling outside the bins. Instead, return when they have been emptied. Please note that CCTV operates on this facility, including the car park.


Glenmalure 100 Lights Walk

The community of Glenmalure will celebrate its mining heritage with its annual 100 Lights Walk on Sunday 28th December  to remember the mining families who walked from Baravore on Christmas Morning to religious ceremonies in Greenane and Ballinatone. All are welcome to come and walk the 2km route in your own time between 5pm and 7pm. Poetry and history  along the way followed by refreshments and music in Glenmalure Lodge. 


CHRISTMAS OPENING TIMES

Glendalough Visitor Centre

The Valley of the Two Lakes is in its Winter slumber and preparing itself for the coming Spring.

The Holidays will be shortly upon us and the Visitor Centre building will be closed from Tuesday 23rd December to Monday 29th December inclusive.  The site and walking trails in the valley will, of course, be accessible during this time.

We look forward to welcoming visitors into the Visitor Centre again from Tuesday 30th December next.

St. Kevin’s Way Hike

Date: December 30, 2025 at 9:30 AM (Europe/Dublin Time)

Get ready to enjoy the crisp winter air and beautiful scenery. Don't forget to wear your comfiest waterproof shoes, to dress in warm clothes (bring extra layers), waterproof gear and bring some snacks for the journey. See you there!  This is a 13km loop hike which will take in Laragh, Brockagh Mountain, visiting five of the Churches of Glendalough, the Round Tower, and upper and lower Glendalough lakes. Refreshments will be available!


AA Meetings  (Ongoing)

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night. All are welcome to come along.


Walking  group in the Brockagh

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around the Glendalough area for approximately one hour. This is a great way to meet and chat with others and with no fee involved. No need to book, just show up on the day.
