Important Notice on Water Quality
Do Not Consume water quality notice issued for Raheen Well Water Treatment Plant to protect customers’ health.
Friday, 27 March 2026: Following consultation with the Health Service Executive (HSE), Uisce Éireann has issued a Do Not Consume Notice for customers supplied by Raheen Well Water Treatment Plant in Co Wicklow.
This notice has been issued to protect the health of customers in 60 properties on the supply due to elevated levels of sodium and chloride (salt) in the supply.
Please note the notice only applies to the below groups:
Babies who are formula-fed. Do not use Raheen Well water to make infant formula or to prepare food for babies. Please use bottled water that is provided or use an alternative safe water source.
People on a strict low-sodium (salt-restricted) diet. This includes people with conditions such as high blood pressure (hypertension), kidney disease as well as certain heart conditions. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, please speak to your GP or healthcare provider.

For individuals not in the above groups, the water may still be used as normal for drinking and cooking, but you may notice a salty taste.
This Do Not Consume Notice applies to all customers served by the Raheen Well Water Treatment Plant including the following areas: Annamoe Village and Raheen.
A map of the impacted area is available on www.water.ie
Please note this is not a Boil Water Notice. Boiling the water is not a suitable measure to make the water safe to consume. It is especially important that mains drinking water is not given to bottle fed infants.
Customers can check if their property is included by visiting the Water Quality section of www.water.ie and entering the property’s Eircode or by calling the Uisce Éireann’s customer care helpline, open 24/7, on 1800 278 278.
