Blessing of the Graves

Brockagh will be on Sunday 16th June after 11.30am mass.

Glendalough Blessing of the Graves is on Friday 21st June at 7pm.


Story Night In Annamoe Centre

The next Rambling House/Story Night in the Annamoe Centre will take place on Friday next the 14th of June at 8pm and all are welcome.  We are also looking for some volunteers to help out with the teas on the night and all upcoming story nights which are only held every three months. Anyone interested in helping out please contact 086-8749092. 


Bat Walks Summer 2024 (WMNP)

Wednesday 12th June at 9.30pm. Wednesday 17th July at 9.30pm. Wednesday 14th August at 8.30pm with a Bat Talk at 7.30pm. For the walks, meet at the National Park Information Office, Glendalough, A98R221.

For the family friendly Talk in August, meet at the National Park Education Centre, A98AP99. Free event. Booking is not necessary. For more information, phone the Information Office Tel: 0404 45425 (open daily between 10am and 5.30pm).

Practicalities: Walking an easy flat 2km route between the Upper and Lower lakes. Dress for the outdoors and bring waterproofs just in case. This is a free event. Except for guide/assistance dogs, dogs not permitted on National Park events. Parking is available at the County Council Upper Lake Car Park, A98W778 (charges apply: €5 per car).


Mobile Library

A mobile comes to Laragh every second Thursday from 12.15 to 12.50pm and parks at the back of Lynhams Hotel. Nex dates are June 20th and July 4th. Phone on 087 9135229 or email library@wicklowcoco.ie

For people who have difficulty accessing their nearest public library, the Mobile Library Service gives them the opportunity to avail of a public library facility. The mobile library carries approximately 2,500 items with free access to many online resources including downloadable audio books, newspapers and more.   


Active Retirement Laragh

The Active retirement group were given an information morning and tour of Turlock Hill followed by Lunch in the Hollywood Cafe.  Thanks to the staff of Turlock Hill for the warm reception and tour, special thanks to Paddy Hanlon who gave us an insight into working and pastimes in Turlock Hill. The Visitors Centre at Glendalough was our next trip and the staff gave us a history of the centre and the work done in the centre. Thanks to all the staff in the visitors centre for a very enjoyable morning.


We danced away to the Wicklow Man on the 19th of May from 3-6  a great turnout and we were joined by the active retirement group from Sallynoggin in Dublin.  Thanks to the volunteers on the day, Phllomena, Nora, Nuala, Annie and Valerie.  Thank you to everyone who brought prizes for the Raffle and to the Wicklow Man for the great music.

Bingo was last Tuesday and only managed to get in a few games, so another date has been set for the bingo. 


Our lunch dates have been in the Glenmalure Lodge, the Wicklow Heather and Jacobs Well and we are grateful for the lovely lunches they provide.

Maxine has put us through a few more Tuesday mornings of Chair Yoga and is keeping us fit and healthy.We were in Dublin Castle on the 28th of May and a thank you to Jean Kelly from Rathdrum for looking after us in Dublin Castle.  She is also helping us with our next trip to Kilkenny castle.  Thank you Jean.

Yoga with Louise

Vinyasa Krama Yoga (step-by-step). Classes are from 10am to 11.20 in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.

The practice will provide gentle stretching, improved strength and flexibility, as well as help students to find balance and calm in everyday life.  Louise takes students through Asana, Pranayama and Meditation for a full Yoga practice.

Chair Yoga

Classes are from 11.30am to 12.30 in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.

Chair Yoga is suitable for those who find a regular yoga class too strenuous, are recovering from injury or illness or are generally less active and mobile.  Louise's classes include physical poses (asana), breathing practices (pranayama) and relaxation and meditation.  There is some standing work which is optional and done next to the chair.

Our shared working space is located in the the heart of county Wicklow with panoramic views of the stunning Glendalough Valley. Free parking, free tea/coffee facilities and lift access.
