Brought to you by Wicklow Uplands Council in the Brockagh Resource Centre on Nov 5th from 8:15pm to 9:30pm in the Mountainview Room. Join us for an inspiring audio-visual and discussion event celebrating the vital role of sheep and wool in shaping a more sustainable future. The evening will open with a specially produced audio-visual presentation that captures the story of Ireland’s sheep, their landscapes, and the potential of wool as a renewable, circular material. Following the opening film piece - a scene setter, Hugh will share a working example from the Wicklow Uplands, demonstrating how sheep fleece is being used in restoration and conservation projects, combining traditional materials with innovative environmental practice. We will follow that with a film piece which gives hope and opportunity considerations to sheep wool. This will be then closed off by a short talk from Pat who will then explore the circular bioeconomy, highlighting the value, potential, and wide-ranging applications of Irish-grown wool. This event aims to spark conversation and collaboration, encouraging new thinking about how Ireland’s wool industry can be revitalised as a cornerstone of rural Wicklow's livelihoods and environmental sustainability.
